Pebble Paradise Round

Top 10 International golf courses

We all have tick-lists … restaurants we eat less, the hotels we stay in things we have to do. For golfers, the tick-list "over to play before I die (and preferably whilst I can still around a golf course under 100).
I had the chance to play golf on five of the six continents (Australia here I come!) And we have always traveled with my clubs since the age of nine years. Over the years I have seen amazing variety in the design of golf course – I calculate that I played about 1,500 golf clubs and I do not know how many balls I lost! It was inevitable that I played the golf courses that would be better used as cow fields and others that I could play for the rest of my life. Some of the golf course architecture is flattering on disability and other make you think, fight a little more and eventually abandon all thoughts of posting a decent medal card. Nevertheless, If the course can beat you and you always come back for more, it must be good. Here are my top 10 golf courses that offer a difficult challenge.
Kingbarns

Wow, the design of this golf course is good. Off the coast west of St Andrews, it is quite a new course, but you can certainly and not say the test is relentless. Superb golf course with greens large, thick, rough and misty views breathtaking. You need a younger good, strong drink and concentration. Precisely evaluated by many pros as favorite circuit in this part of the world.

Ballybunion

Each time I played here is a grilled Hoole but the west coast of Ireland so what can I expect? Architecture golf course (both new and old) provides wonderful tests of golf with every shot in the wrong required. massive dunes, treacherous greens and wind coming all directions. You know you've played golf after 36 holes here. The club is great, but avoid buying waterproofs – it would be cheaper getting wet!
Hunstanton

I prefer Royal West Norfolk just down the road, but Hunstanton is a severe test of nerves. Especially since I always think that is playing in quartets zero and I play the Evens. The main difficulty here is the Greens – many of which are below or above you and who are all very well kept. The prevailing wind is wreaking havoc with your readers, but a good shot is rewarded and a bad shot is penalized if you can not complain. Wonderful and traditional golf with a club match, ensures the design of this golf course easily makes the list.

Les Bordes

Robert von Hagge is one of my creator favorite and has created five courses in France that are rated in the 50 European countries preferred: Seignosse, Royal Mougins Golf National and Kempferhof are the other four. Les Bordes is his best and, as such, easily makes my top 10 golf courses. With water on 14 holes and huge white bunkers and some very narrow aisles you need to concentrate for four hours. I can not think of a hole easy. However, what von Hagge do well is to provide an easier (more) route to the green, but if you want to play a decent handicap or like taking risks then go for broke and it has good (but with a little bales less) during the night. You can sleep and eat at this refuge in the valley of the Loire.

Chantilly Vineuil

A beautiful jewel Tom Simpson. This designer is probably my favorite and has been incredibly prolific since it was at its peak before the age of air travel. And not only he worked hard, it worked brilliantly and his designs have stood the test of time to remain among the best golf courses in the world with effortless ease. Chantilly, north of Paris, is a course of Green Park with big rough and difficult. The bunkers are perfectly placed and every hole is a challenge – whatever the length, an oak tree overlooking the corner of the fairway, a green three levels, a massive bunker in the middle of the fairway. A best golf courses in the world, and certainly worthy of a place in my top 10 of golf!
Canouan Island

Having just returned from here and lost about five balls per round, I want to come back better prepared. Part of the Grenadine Islands, is a small corner of paradise and the course Jim Fazio golf course fits in perfectly. The front nine is demanding on the tee as the landing areas are very narrow and the wind off the beach ( few meters) can really punish the ball. The back nine is treacherous and wonderful at the same time … every shot must be on site. greens and fairways are impeccable, but the rough is soft and thick fabric is a forbidden zone! The best architecture courses in the Caribbean by a long way.
Pebble Beach

I have not played much for the States, but I played some of their best. For me, Pebble Beach is the top. There is regular service in the U.S. combines slick you well and the terrain is typical of the climate of California. Ranked number one public golf course United States, it is not the most difficult challenge you will ever face, but you know the green-Keeper is kind to you. However, getting a little wind and let the history of this course, you touch and there is a very nasty bite behind the beautiful facade of the design of the golf course …

The European

They say that Pro Tour have disconnected this course – but they only play for money and the rest of us can play for fun! A simple clubhouse belies the genius of the design. rather long and very cleverly placed bunkers, you must be Gary Player and John Daly, if you go to beat the design this golf course and a good score here. Again, opinions are distracting as a beautiful girl in a church and you need a number of balls or basket with a long stick. south of Dublin and of better quality than the current big names in the region.
Touessrok

For golf vacation said, it is difficult! Mauritius is now one of (if not the best) exotic golf destinations in the world with not less than six during the first class. Le Touessrok, however, takes the biscuit with fairways and greens little tight. I played this course several times, each with a different game plan … every time I failed, but I come back for more as the course does offer a birdie or two and a wonderful meal. Architecture This course is unique because it is the alone in the world to support an entire island, and there you take the private launch of the hotel. In fact, this may be why I never play well there that I'm too relaxed at the time of my arrival!
Barbarous

Designed by Pete Dye and located in the heart of Provence, is a beast of a golf course with a charming three star hotel and two restaurants. Even by today's standards, it is far behind but I remember being one of the very first course I had to hit a driver and three wood just to hit a four-shot in the regulation … now make it short, but it is still one of the rare courses where you can play every shot and every club in your bag. Moreover, Some Greens are 80 meters long to clubbing is so important (unless you like to make four). Target golf with fantastic scenery to take your breath further ensures the design of this golf course was always going to remember sneaking into my top 10!
