Are far-infrared rays bad for Systemic Lupus like UV rays? Want to try treatments but worried about danger.?
Thinking about trying the far-infrared sauna to help with pain, but concerned that it may be harmful w/ Lupus.
I have never heard about far infared being bad or contraindicated, but at the same time I’m not an expert in the subject. I have a few friends who used it for Seasonal Affectiveness Disorder, and healing damaged tissue, but that’s about all.
So, I’m pretty sure harmless (I can’t see how it would make an autoimmune reaction worse, and it might help the tissue heal), but I also have no idea if it has any point being used for lupus. Pretty much, the biggest danger you’re facing here is the money you spent on the device. If you’re planning to use it for something besides your lupus, go right ahead, but if you’re using it for that condition specifically I really can’t see why it would have any point…..but I admit ignorance on the subject so if you go ahead with it please tell me what happens!
*UV has absolutely nothing in common or to do with far red infared rays.
