The lower part that is kept open allows you to see the pictures you have taken clearly even under the sunlight. It also helps you to operate the control buttons of the camera. It can be fixed with the camera with a self adhesive Velcro strip. It is quite cheap and sold at $10 only. It is available in black color and is quite handy. You can easily fold it and keep it into the bag after using.
The latest version of JAR sun shield has also introduced recently. It covers the lower part too to restrict the reflection comes from below.
You can buy any of these sun shades for you favorite digital camera. The choice is yours. But buying a sun shade is must. So that whenever you go out and capture your favorite moment under the sun you can do it safely.
