Does steaming your face help clear up severely clogged pores?
I want to purchase a facial steamer (Conair Facial Sauna System) but before I do this, I want to make sure that steaming my face is actually worth it. I have extremely congested pores all around my mouth, chin, cheeks, and forehead. Does anyone know if this will help my acne problem?
I would suggest steaming at home. Just get a microwave-safe bowl and fill it with water, make sure the bowl is bigger around than your face (so not a cereal bowl =P). Microwave the water so it’s steaming. Set the bowl of hot water on a stable surface where you can sit next to it. Lean your face over the hot bowl of water and lay a towel over your head so the steam doesn’t escape right away. Make sure to not let the water touch your face. This process, in my opinion, works great! This also works well if you steam and then use one of those blackhead strips because once your face has been steamed, your pores are at their biggest, making the gunk in your pores easier to get out. Once all your pores are nice and clean, rinse with cool water to zap the pores back shut. Hope this helps. =)
